floor infrared heater

Outside the window is cold, inclement weather, and the temperature in the house has noticeably decreased? If you feel discomfort about this, then the heating system available in the house or apartment does not cope with the task, and you need an additional source of heat. And what would be best for you if not an infrared heater?

Floor IR heater — how does it work?

Do you remember how your school physics teacher told you that heated objects give off heat in the form of electromagnetic radiation, which is perceived by living beings as heat? We cannot see this radiation because it is above visible red light, which is why it is called infrared.

Infrared radiation comes in three ranges: shortwave, mediumwave and longwave. If the object is not very hot, it emits long waves. But as it warms up, the waves become shorter, the radiation becomes more intense, the outgoing heat becomes more palpable. And with the transition to shorter wavelengths, a person begins to see them in the form of red, then yellow, and after — white light.

It is this physical phenomenon that formed the basis for the creation of infrared heaters. Moreover, such heaters do not heat the air at all, but the objects surrounding them, which, in turn, begin to give off heat into space.

Floor infrared heater — varieties

Today, floor IR heaters operating in the medium wave range are the most common. Moreover, they differ in the type of radiation: radiation can be quartz, halogen or carbon.

Quartz emitters in heaters are a tungsten filament placed in a vacuum quartz tube. In halogen emitters, the lamps are filled with an inert gas, and in carbon ones, carbon fiber is used instead of a tungsten filament. At the same time, all three types of lamps practically do not differ in their parameters.

Long-wave floor infrared heaters for the home are a novelty that is confidently conquering the market. These heaters are designed in a completely different way: in them the heating element itself is a profiled aluminum plate, into which a heating element operating at low temperature is built. The maximum plate heats up to 300 degrees Celsius (for comparison, in medium-wave heaters, the emitter heats up to 700 degrees Celsius).

The advantages of such a device are its increased fire safety and the fact that it does not burn oxygen in the room.

How to choose an IR heater?

If you want to choose a good infrared floor heater for your home or summer cottage, you need to take into account a number of factors: the average temperature during the winter period and the heat loss of the room. In order to guess for sure with the required power of the device, in addition to heat loss and temperature, you need to throwfloor infrared heater some power on top.

So, for residential premises of 10 square meters, a medium-wave IR heater for 700-1400 W of power or a long-wave heater for 800-1500 W is enough.

Floor film heater — what is it?

This type of heater is mounted under carpet, linoleum or carpet. It is installed quite quickly, has a built-in power regulator and three fixed heating modes. The heat dissipation of such a heater is 140 W per square meter. The heater is connected through an ordinary euro-socket.

The floor film heater is sold assembled and does not require additional configuration. Upon request, installation of such equipment is carried out on any area of the premises.
